Disgusting Products By Urban Outfitters

I was absolutely disgusted and angry when I found out that Urban Outfitters having been selling tops that have 'eat less' and 'depression' on them, the fact that this vile store have been promoting these illnesses. Eating disorders and depression are real mental illnesses that kill people, more and more people are suffering these horrible illnesses each year because of bullying, pressure and society. Mental illnesses like these should never be glamorized and seen as a trend because they are far from glamorous and once someone has got a mental illness it stays with them for life because it's in your head forever. The same way when people bully you and call you terrible things it stays in your head for life whereas if it's physical those bruises, cuts, marks will heal. 

This gives off the wrong impression to young girls and boys. What if you're little sister, brother, daughter or son saw someone wearing one of these horrific tops? Urban Outfitters should be forced to shut down because of this, young people especially girls are so vulnerable we can't afford for things like this to become 'trendy' to them because they saw someone wearing it or saw it in the store. I am proud to say i have never been in an Urban Outfitters store or purchased anything from there and never will. You wouldn't see anyone wearing a top saying cancer on it so why on earth do Urban Outfitters think it's okay to promote depression eating disorders. The amount of people committing suicide is increasing which is devastating and people think it's okay to promote depression and glamorize it. It has now been taken off the shelves thankfully but it still angers me enormously that they would even think about selling such horrific products. They have now got a store called Depression, this is outright disgusting and I advise everyone who reads this to stay away from Urban Outfitters and any other store that think it's acceptable to make mental illnesses a trend/fashion statement. 

When i did my research on Urban Outfitters for this blog post i also found out some other outrageous scandals they have done in the past. In April 2010 they have a colour option of Obama/Black on one of their t-shirts which is extremely respectfulness and racist more shocking as this store is based in America. They also had another derogatory top saying 'Kiss me. I'm drunk, or Irish or whatever. They angered the Jewish by selling a shirt that mimicked the design of star patches Jewish people were forced to wear during the holocaust. I can't believe Urban Outfitters have been getting away with this for so long.
